Geek Chic!...

Geek Chic!...

The time has come for it to be cool to be a geek! Who wouldda thought!
I've clearly picked the right time to become a bit of a writer, book reader and tweeter (I do draw the line at Star Wars geekiness tho!)
Celeb's like; Alexa Chung, Myleene Klass, Peaches Geldof & George Lamb (mmm, George Lamb..*swoon*...anyways...) have been rocking the 'Geek Chic' look for months but now it's really the look for the autumn...
The real geeks of the world may well be getting their anoraks in a twist at the mere thought of us all playing geek but it looks like they are going to have to get used to it. As the trend only seems to be getting hotter with no signs of slowing down.
Fat rimed specs, thick grey tights, a duffle coat or a satchel bag; whichever you choose make sure you don't start looking as if you're en route to a dress up party...
One accessory such as the classic geeky glasses or a funky nerdy blazer is enough to add to an outfit to just give it the hint of GEEK.
Unless you're a bit of a fashionista, and can cleverly mix a few items together. Maybe a tan duffle coat, tailored shorts with thick tights under them and some clunky brown shoes~ for full on G-chicness!
And boys don’t forget, you’re aiming for George Lamb look not Eugene from Grease...
Time to get your geek on!

Fringed in- floral out (for now!)

Fringed in- floral out (for now!) It wouldn't feel quite right out and about in out FREEZING UK winter months in our summer floral prints~as much as we adore them!
So what's next? Tassels and fringing of course!
Don't panic no need to go for total fringe over load ladies! You can always keep it purely to lush accessories- maybe a gorge fringed bag like WAT's Brown faux suede bag (plus this has another hot trend of studs too-BRILL!)
If you prefer the more elegant look there's the stunning sparkling Swarovski tasseled teardrop earrings.
If you're a little more daring go for one of the many fringed maxis, skirts or flapper dresses!
Flapper dresses do wonders for curves girls! Hides all manner of unwanted lumps and bumps. Not forgetting how fab tassels are for making our décolletage look 'fuller' shall we say!
Just don't all get too carried away~ ONE lot of tassels is enough for any outfit. Less is more in this case!

Let’s Get Fruity!

Let’s Get Fruity!

As much as I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Paloma, maybe don't take the fruity look quite to her standards...But there are so many tropical themed accessories around right now for us to swoon over!

It could be a sleek crystal strawberry necklace,  or maybe these quirky crystal apple studs!

Maybe a cutesy fruity hairclip (especially great for getting fringes out the way on holiday without looking a mess...) you could always just go for a sweet little brooch to add to an outfit.

If you're thinking this jewellery look just isn't for you...One of WAT's amazing cute cocktail lip balms might be right up your alley! I can't get enough of them.

Either way you can be sure this is one style that will have you going all California girls, day dreaming of cocktails on the beach.

The Xfactor!

The Xfactor!

It's finally begun! Now our lives on a Saturday night are over until Christmas...
It certainly started with a bang, with Stephen Hunter the unbelievably camp disco fever dude. Although I have a sneaky suspicion that he will end up this year’s Jedward! Some of us will love him & some will hope he gets thrown out ASAP!

The real controversy surrounding the first show of the season is the idea that even the good singers were dubbed. The use of autotune became apparent early on in the show, by many of the shows viewers on twitter. Causing everyone to feel the hopefuls are losing their xfactor rather fast!
One of the contestants that is part of the autotune debate is Gamu Nhengu, I personally thought she was average to begin with, the show does love a sob story though & seemed to concentrate on her background, although she actually wasn't all that of a singer the use of some type of tuning aided to her living up to the story behind her! Or maybe I am just overly cynical!

One story that did actually melt my heart was 'Gay and Straight' (what a name to begin with...) at first I have to admit I thought Oh good Lord get him off the stage Simon! But once you saw just how close they were as friends, plus how nervous Caroline was I couldn't help but start to love them just a tiny lil bit... There is talk that her vocals were also dubbed but I HOPE they weren't and that she gets herself a new found confidence to go on the show!

As always Xfactor didn't let us down with a huge collection of odd, awful & damn right MENTAL contestants... Which all adds to the show & if I'm honest are actually my fav part to it!
Another slightly 'I can't watch' but brilliant moment was Geri Halliwell's montage of clips, that woman does like to talk! The faces of the other 3 judges were enough to tell the whole mood! I can't blame them either; she really did seem to think she was the xfactor! *cringe*
Geri didn't let the side down with choice of outfits, looking gorgeous with her non fussy outfit and simple but fab long gold pendant necklace much like WAT's own.

I must admit I saw another side to 'our Cheryl' during the show too, maybe clever editing or the first signs of her being ill, but ooh she was a little bitchy about the girls! Some of the comments were totally uncalled for and pointless- I do hope she gets the girls this year!
The whole show did miss Dannii M! Pixie Lott & Katy Perry (who caused all sorts of drama on American Idol!) are some of the other guest judges; I wonder how Cheryl will cope with that!
We'll be keeping you up to date with the Xfactor news right until the final! Taking bets on your predictions of the winner from now!
My money is on Simon Cowell.
